Lara Hunts Dinosaurs Again: Details Emerge for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Lara Croft returns to the series' roots. Journalists who tried Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis at Summer Game Fest 2026 were pleased with what they saw. According to them, the remake of the first installment focuses on world exploration, puzzles, and the atmosphere of classic adventures.
During the demonstration, players were shown the Lost Valley in Peru, one of the most famous locations from the original Tomb Raider. The main task was to solve an updated version of the gear puzzle, but the primary focus was on environmental exploration.
The developers intentionally reduced the number of hints. There are almost no markers or constant directions – players will have to independently explore the area, find their way, and analyze the clues they find.
During exploration, hidden caves, secret passages, and crafting materials can be discovered. Lara uses familiar acrobatic techniques: climbing walls, jumping between platforms, and using a grappling hook to cross chasms.
After solving the puzzle, the heroine encounters a pack of dinosaurs. At this point, she is allowed to use one of the series' symbols, her dual pistols.
The combat system is built on mobility and acrobatics. The new Focus mode allows time to be slowed down during spectacular maneuvers and shooting.
The initial impressions were positive. According to journalists, the game successfully combines classic series elements with modern solutions. The release is scheduled for February 12, 2027.
