It seems Ubisoft is having major management difficulties.

Recently, insider Tom Henderson shared new information about what's happening at Ubisoft. According to his sources, a couple of new projects for well-known franchises — Far Cry and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon — have run into difficulties.

The new Ghost Recon installment is known as “Project OVR.” According to a memo he obtained from sources, this project did not meet “internal alpha milestone targets.” After this, oversight of the new game's development was increased.

Bruno Galet was appointed as Senior Producer — he will lead the project team. In addition, Vice President of Production Jean-Baptiste Duval and Vice President of Global Creative Office Julien Sansalone became more actively involved in the work processes. Reportedly, these managers have become “more present in day-to-day work,” including being in the office with the team.

Sources said that Project OVR suffers from “unrealistic deadlines, poor planning and management.” Allegedly, Ubisoft headquarters rejected alternative work plans. Rumors within the company suggest that if the situation does not improve, the game may be canceled in favor of another project or undergo a reboot.

There were also problems with the development of the new Far Cry; Henderson noted that for the developers, “everything changes almost every month.”
