Recently, Sophie Thatcher, known for her roles in "The Book of Boba Fett" and "Yellowjackets," gave an interview. During a conversation with Josh Horowitz, she talked about how the star of Amazon's "Fallout" series first reacted to the video game.
According to the actress, Ella Purnell, who played Jackie in "Yellowjackets" and Lucy in "Fallout," was very scared by the graphics in Fallout: New Vegas and urged to turn off the game.
First, Sophie recreated her "Yellowjackets" colleagues in The Sims:
I brought her to my house — that evening I invited all the girls from "Yellowjackets" and told them: "I'm going to recreate each of you in The Sims." It took hours, and everyone got terribly bored because I was trying to make everything as accurate as possible. And I eventually did it.
And at some point, she turned on Fallout: New Vegas:
And then I tried to recreate Ella in Fallout — it was her first introduction to the game, and she was like: "Turn it off! The graphics here are scary." And I was like, "Fair enough." [In this game] there's a kind of "uncanny valley" feeling. Fallout: New Vegas is exactly like that: seemingly realistic, but not quite, typical [situation] for that era. Because of this, everything seems a little strange. And Fallout 3 — the graphics there were really cool. I especially remember the feeling when it just came out, I thought: "These are the best graphics of all time."
Earlier, the second season of Amazon's "Fallout" series was released — the adaptation of Fallout became one of the biggest hits in the history of Prime Video. The show was renewed for a third season.
