After the release date announcement, many noticed the tight schedule of autumn releases. Given that the Finnish studio's previous game took time to achieve expected sales, a postponement might have seemed like a logical solution. But Remedy holds a different opinion.
Communications Director Thomas Puha stated in an interview:
We set the release date based on what would be best for the game. The most important thing is to release Control Resonant with the highest possible quality, because that's how it should be done, not releasing a product that is not fully ready. If the game is not excellent on release day, players will not like it, and it is very difficult to recover from that later.
According to Puha, the company is not concerned about the release of Silent Hill Townfall on the same day. When choosing the date, the developers focused not on competitors, but on the readiness of their own game.
Of course, the release date is challenging, but there will always be competition. Ultimately, we must trust the quality of our game. We have also prepared the largest marketing campaign in Remedy's history. The game will have a competitive price, and we will share new details in the coming days.
