Why wasn't Intergalactic shown at State of Play? Former Naughty Dog developer gave an answer

News 2

Walker, who worked on The Last of Us: Part II Remastered, commented on social media discussions after Sony's presentation.

Every time a studio making a AAA game has to divert resources to create a trailer, the game loses about 4 months of real time that could have been spent on development.

He then added:

Listen, do you want a new game or not?

According to the developer, the team has a choice: show new materials and spend time on it, or focus on creating the game and release it earlier.

Preparing videos for major events like Summer Game Fest, Gamescom, or The Game Awards requires significant effort. Each frame undergoes approvals and checks before publication.

Walker suggests that Naughty Dog is not yet ready to show something truly big for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, such as a release date.
