Director Eiichiro Sasaki and producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi spoke in an interview about the new zombie action RPG from GPTRACK50 studio.
The main character is a zombie named Davy, who tries to bring a girl named Julia back to life. During dungeon runs, he fights enemies, collects loot, and gains new abilities. The Style Eat mechanic allows him to absorb monster cores and adopt their skills. The game will feature up to ten combat styles.
Kobayashi noted that newcomers might find the playthrough challenging, but most players will be able to reach the end in 20–30 hours. He emphasized that Stupid Never Dies is not a soulslike game, and the team never intended to go down that path.
According to Sasaki, some progress is reset after death, but many improvements are retained.
Development is 90% complete. The release on PS5 and Steam is scheduled for autumn 2026.
