During the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, the actor stated that surprises await viewers in the new film. According to him, “everyone is coming back.”
Brendan Fraser's participation as Rick O'Connell, Rachel Weisz as Evelyn Carnahan, and Hannah himself is now confirmed. This means the return of key characters from the first two films.
The actor also mentioned his long-time friend Arnold Vosloo, who played Imhotep, and Kevin J. O'Connor, known for his role as Beni. The latter's return would be a surprise, as the character died from sacred scarabs in the first part. However, fans well remember the famous phrase: “Death is only the beginning.”
The return of Oded Fehr, who played Ardeth Bay, is also not ruled out. The actor has repeatedly said that he would like to appear in the franchise again.
The script is being written by David Coggeshall. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct. Filming is expected to begin soon.
