Legacy of Atlantis will be a reinterpretation of Lara Croft's first adventures from 1996. At the same time, the game will maintain a connection with the Survivor trilogy, which should be reflected in both the plot and gameplay.
In an interview, director Raul Siqueira said that the project will inherit the approach to difficulty settings from Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Players will be able to separately change the difficulty of combat, puzzles, and other elements.
I think the most important lesson we learned is adapting the difficulty level to players' expectations. One aspect where we really progressed by the end of the trilogy was the large number of settings for those who wanted to customize the game to their preferences. We found that because Tomb Raider combines many different elements, there are players who really enjoy puzzles and want them to be challenging, but they are not as good at combat, so they prefer easier battles.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is expected to be released in early 2027.
