The developers of the life simulator inZOI returned in June with a major 0.9.0 update, which adds new content and expands gameplay possibilities.
Characters can now attend school: they will have to attend classes according to a schedule, and every Thursday students take tests. Their overall academic performance is assessed based on these tests and their behavior in class. Students can receive warnings and even be expelled from school if their academic performance is low.
They also added the ability to open a clothing store and made several changes to the hairdresser business:
- Hair color is retained when changing hairstyles.
- If a haircut goes wrong, a refund can be requested.
- The list of children's hairstyles matches the list in the Zoe creation mode.
- 3 new hairstyles have been added, available only at the hairdresser.
Some other changes and new features:
- "Active high school gameplay" has been added. Teenage characters can enroll as students and attend the same high school until they graduate as young adults.
- A vehicle owned by Zoe can be driven by family members.
- A U-turn can be performed while driving.
- Car traffic simulation has been improved.
- The mini-map can be used as a GPS navigator when driving to a set destination.
- An experimental first-person camera view can be enabled by entering the cheat "FirstPersonMode true" and then pressing [Tab].
- Advanced driving mode has been added as an experimental feature. According to the developers, enabling this driving mode improves vehicle handling, including handbrake, body roll, suspension, anti-roll bars, and in-air state control when driving cars, motorcycles, and scooters.
- Ragdoll simulation has been applied to car accidents and other collision events.
- Characters can now sit on chairs from both sides.
- If Zoe is caught cheating on a romantic partner, the romance score between the two characters will significantly decrease, and the romantic partner will approach the cheating Zoe. The cheating Zoe can try to make amends through conversation to regain some lost points.
