At the end of last year, the Revolution Team delighted Grand Theft Auto fans with the announcement of a new large-scale project. At that time, they presented a trailer for GTA San Andreas Nextgen Edition – an unofficial remaster that will be based on the Grand Theft Auto V engine.

In June of this year, the modders once again reminded everyone of their presence and addressed the players. They reported on their progress and presented a “general summary” of the remaster's current state.

Revolution Team is not rushing to reveal all the details, as creating such a project carries the risk of DMCA ("copyright infringement"):

As we said before, we try to share news carefully and not publish too much information to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. But leaving you without news is also wrong. Therefore, we have prepared a small progress card. Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done, but the project is slowly but surely moving forward.

According to the breakdown presented, the modders have completed almost half of the “city” (it is assumed that this category includes all settlements in the game). 10% of missions are ready, more than half of the vehicles, and almost all radio stations.

Previously, Revolution Team presented GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition – a project running on the RAGE engine from Grand Theft Auto IV. Take-Two lawyers tried to shut it down completely, but the remaster not only successfully reached release but also received patches from the modders.
