In June, Blizzard Entertainment announced the release of update 5.0.16 for the real-time strategy game StarCraft II. Previously, players could test it on a special PTR server.

The developers updated the map pool for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 formats, introduced “balance adjustments with expanded strategic diversity for all three races,” and also made changes to the economy — the number of starting workers was reduced from 12 to 8, and the resource reserves for different mineral and gas sources were adjusted.

The update caused mixed reactions among strategy fans. Some StarCraft 2 players feel that Blizzard is rushing the release and should conduct additional tests. However, not everyone shares this opinion; for example, a user with the nickname Paxton-176 believes that there are simply not enough people on the PTR server to collect sufficient data for balance adjustments, so such a release will help developers fine-tune the game.

The description of update 5.0.16 for StarCraft II is available at the following link; it has not yet been translated into Russian. In addition to balance changes, this update includes various bug fixes.
