Xbox is looking for the "next Kojima" in the gaming industry
The new chapter of Xbox is connected with finding new talented developers. Asha Sharma stated that the company wants to support unique projects like Hideo Kojima's OD and develop a more open ecosystem for developers.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sharma noted that the industry must maintain access for new creators. Work on OD shows that "the industry has not yet reached the limits of video games." She called Kojima's project a "deeply emotional game" and emphasized that such initiatives deserve support, as it is "a different type of game."
Sharma also stated that she was inspired by already known authors within the Xbox ecosystem and now wants to expand the platform's capabilities:
Xbox needs to be open enough for more creators and studios to join and succeed.
According to her, "the next Kojima has not yet been found."
The company's plans include developing a more open ecosystem, attracting new studios, and expanding the diversity of games to bring more players to the Xbox service.
