For the past 11 days, Ayaneo has been constantly teasing gamers with images related to the Pocket Micro 2. But only today did the developers show the first official images of the device's front panel — just in time for the full announcement of this portable console, which will take place on June 26.

These shots provide a better look at the new product and show that the design remains close to the original but has received useful improvements for convenience. The front panel retains the glass coating that Ayaneo uses in many of its devices.

While the buttons are similar in design, the team has radically changed the analog sticks. They are deeply recessed into the body and have added LED backlighting for customization and a modern look. In addition, these are recessed joysticks with TMR sensors, so there will be no drift here.

It seems the device will retain a bezel-less display and menu buttons on the bottom panel. The bumpers have also been redesigned: they now protrude at the corners of the device for greater comfort.

According to Ayaneo's social media posts, the buttons have become “larger and more precise,” the device has received “an improved D-pad and action buttons for a more pleasant response,” as well as “separate large bumpers.” It is clear that Ayaneo employees want to make such a gadget much more comfortable than the original, even if it means retaining the same thin rectangular design.
