Recently, lawyers for Rockstar Games / Take-Two once again turned their attention to Russian modders. The creators of the Dos.Zone project, where various games can be played in a browser, were forced to block access to several games.
The first parts of the Grand Theft Auto franchise were under attack — the developers of Dos.Zone consider this "surrealism," as they are forced to remove games that are not even for sale.
However, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is once again available in the browser. The creators of Dos.Zone said that they managed to convince the "yellow corporation" during the "showdown":
We removed what is not even for sale, but we kept what has a clear definition - OPEN SOURCE and a free license! And the yellow corporation, with whom we had a new round of disputes, agreed with us.
The creators of Dos.Zone believe that this is a "very indicative case" and urged everyone to always defend their rights: "Well, congratulations to all enthusiasts on the victory."
Now everyone will be able to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on Dos.Zone. A notification was placed on the pages of the old GTAs:
