In late June, Microsoft announced a new round of price increases for Xbox Series X|S consoles.
The 512 GB model will increase by $100, and the 1 TB version will cost $150 more. Microsoft also announced that a decision had been made to discontinue production of the 1 TB console.
New prices for Xbox consoles, changes will take effect on August 1, 2026:
- Xbox Series S (512 GB version) — $500 (approximately 37 thousand rubles).
- Xbox Series S (1 TB version) — $600 (approximately 45 thousand rubles).
- Xbox Series X Digital (disc-less, 1 TB) — $750 (approximately 56 thousand rubles).
- Xbox Series X (1 TB) — $800 (approximately 60 thousand rubles).
In its announcement, Microsoft explained that the price increase is due to the situation in the components market:
Unfortunately, prices for console storage and memory have increased by more than 2.5 times, and we expect another doubling by autumn 2027. The entire consumer electronics industry is struggling due to the current component crisis, but consoles are particularly affected. Unlike phones, computers, speakers, and other consumer devices, consoles are typically not sold at a profit, but rather below cost.
