According to Gematsu, Nintendo Switch 2 sold 5,940,500 units in Japan, while PS5 sold 5,920,682. Nintendo's new console achieved this result in approximately one year and has already pulled ahead.

Against this backdrop, Sony recently raised the price of the PS5 in certain markets, which impacted sales. Nintendo, in turn, is strengthening its position due to its strong brand and stable demand in Japan.

At the same time, Switch 2 does not yet have key releases like a new Mario and a major Link game, but the console is already showing a high sales pace. If Nintendo maintains momentum and adds major exclusives, the gap could widen.
