The GTA VI page in the Xbox Store indicates that the story mode and online components may be distributed separately. If this information is confirmed, players will be able to install only the desired part of the game or uninstall one of them, leaving the other.
This was noticed by user SynthPotato. The Xbox Store lists four add-ons for GTA VI. One of them is Story Mode, which does not require a separate installation. The situation is similar with a component called Extra. It is not yet known whether it hides an online mode or other content.
Only two add-ons will require separate installation: the Vintage Vice City Pack for pre-orders and the Upgrade to Ultimate Edition for owners of the standard edition.
GTA VI will be released on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Recall that the expanded edition will include exclusive cars, weapons, clothing, and other items for Jason and Lucia.
