Ubisoft has committed enormous resources to the development of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. 15 studios worldwide worked on the remake of the iconic pirate installment of the series.

The main team for the project was the Ubisoft office in Singapore. Studios from Barcelona, Belgrade, Bordeaux, Bucharest, Chengdu, Da Nang, India, Kyiv, Montpellier, Montreal, Philippines, Shanghai, Sofia, and Quebec also participated in the development.

This is the same number of studios that created Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the new installment in the series.

However, not all teams made it to release. The Ubisoft studio in Belgrade was closed as part of cutbacks, and restructuring also affected the Winnipeg office and led to layoffs in Barcelona.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is scheduled for release on July 9, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
