In June, Beamdog studio returned to classic role-playing games and announced the release of update 2.7.
This update simplifies the use of cloud saves in the following games:
- Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
- Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition
- Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition
For example, it became possible to manage cloud saves in Steam through the client. Previously, enabling or disabling the Steam Cloud function for BG1:EE, BG2:EE, and IWD:EE was only available in the games' settings.
The developers also talked about Apple Silicon support and “dynamic language support” — they made changes that will simplify adding languages in the future. They noted that “community translations” were added for Siege of Dragonspear, including in Russian (an add-on for the first Baldur's Gate).
The developers noted that patch 2.7 was developed for a very long time and would not have appeared without the support of the player community: “Your enthusiasm, feedback, and support played a key role. Thank you to each of you from the entire Beamdog team!”.
