For almost two weeks, Ayaneo teased the Pocket Micro 2 portable console. Then, on June 26, it opened pre-orders for this new product, which sold out instantly.
It turned out that the developers had prepared over 1,000 units of this device. However, when pre-orders opened in China, sales surged and significantly exceeded Ayaneo's prepared stock. The management became concerned that the company might not have enough product to fulfill all orders.
Therefore, the company had no choice but to allocate only 100 units for international customers, after which the product was removed from the global website. The team is now evaluating the cost of purchasing new materials and checking how many remaining components are available at the factory before making new decisions.
Ayaneo assures players that it did not conduct a marketing campaign just to sell 100 units. It sold a large batch of Pocket Micro 2 in the domestic market in just one hour.
Ayaneo is currently negotiating with suppliers to determine if it can arrange additional production of the Pocket Micro 2. The team needs time to understand if it can meet the minimum order quantity requirements for another production batch.
