Some players criticize the Nintendo Switch 2's LCD screen, considering it a step backward compared to the OLED model of the first Switch. Data has emerged that Nintendo may be preparing an updated display variant.
A new LCD panel, which may be intended for the Switch 2, has been discovered on a Chinese trading platform. The manufacturer is Sharp, while the current version of the console uses an Innolux screen.
The new module features a different arrangement of elements, connector, and wires, which may indicate more than a minor update.
The panel is designated as LS079T1SX10P. According to Nintendo Patents Watch, this could refer to Sharp's LTPS technology, a 7.9-inch diagonal, and 1080p resolution. Additionally, it is noted that Sharp previously announced an expansion of component production for mobile devices starting in September 2025.
