Sony Interactive Entertainment President Hideaki Nishino previously spoke about the company's desire to go beyond the living room. Now, similar statements have been made in Sony's responses to investor questions.
The company repeatedly mentioned “changes in how users play and their growing needs,” and stated the need to “offer experiences that match users' play styles outside the living room.”
Sony also recalled the success of PS Portal, which, in its opinion, confirmed the demand for the ability to play in different rooms of the house. The company mentioned new devices, including PS Monitor and Pulse Portable Speakers.
However, Sony has not announced a portable PS6. But such statements, as well as the success of Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and ROG Xbox Ally X, indicate the company's interest in this segment.
