A large-scale protest by Love and Deepspace fans recently took place. Chinese gamers were not limited to social media messages; there were also reports of "physical" expressions of dissatisfaction.

The reason for the dissatisfaction was the new character Valko. Love and Deepspace fans have long complained about the small amount of fresh content, and many decided that if the developers added another hero, the old ones would be supported less, and they would be left without content for a long time.

As a result, the social media accounts of Love and Deepspace developers lost millions of subscribers in a few days. Some players claim that ritual attributes, funeral wreaths, and even cow dung were sent to the developers.

The creators of Love and Deepspace reviewed player feedback and decided to cancel the release of Valko and "further development of the new romantic character":

Our team has been closely monitoring your discussions and feedback across all platforms. Due to the issues that arose after the announcement of version 6.0 and the disappointment they caused within the community, we want to make it clear: we are very sorry […] Faced with a number of problems in recent days, we promptly made the necessary changes. After analyzing what happened, we understand that we rushed the introduction of Valko and did so without being truly ready. By doing so, we let down the players who supported us from the very beginning, and we also failed to provide the gaming experience that players who were waiting for Valko expected.

The authors of Love and Deepspace emphasize that they will focus on developing stories and interactions with existing characters in the future.
