The initial deal between Unknown Worlds Entertainment and Krafton involved a bonus payment of $250 million. However, Krafton decided to play a trick and avoid the payment.
Ultimately, the dismissal of key lead developers resulted in a lawsuit and the triumphant return of the creators to the studio. Subnautica 2 successfully launched in early access and became a huge hit — several million copies were sold, and the peak online concurrent players on Steam exceeded 467 thousand.
It has now been announced that Krafton and Unknown Worlds Entertainment have reached an agreement, according to which the company will pay bonuses to the developers, and Ted Gill will again leave his post as head of the studio. It is not yet known who will take his place.
