Nikita Buyanov showed seasonal modifiers for Escape from Tarkov - some players are already complaining about broken balance

This month, Escape from Tarkov is expected to launch a season system and the start of "Season 1". Players will be able to create a seasonal character and set a number of modifiers that will affect gameplay (making it harder or easier).

Battlestate Games boss Nikita Buyanov published several examples of such seasonal modifiers on social media:

Positive and negative modifiers applicable only to your character. Each modifier has a point cost. To create a character, the total number of points must be 0 or more.

Negative (+) — Give points

  • Allergic (+3) — you become allergic to 2 random items from the provisions or medical supplies category
  • Broken secure container (+4) — the secure container can only be filled with money, keys, dogtags, special equipment, and some containers
  • No Flea Market (+4) — trading with players on the Flea Market is disabled
  • Third leg (+1) — movement speed is reduced by 1%, and purchasing items from the Therapist is 5% cheaper

Positive (-) — Reduce the number of points

  • Polyphagia (-2) — energy consumption is 15% slower
  • Sturdy Bones (-3) — limb fracture chance is reduced by 15%, and fall damage is reduced by 15%
  • Average (-12) — all character skills are set to level 25, but cannot be leveled further (except for crafting skill)
  • Kappa protocol (-21) — you immediately receive a Kappa secure container

The "Average" modifier caused particular concern among players — some consider it a real "imba". According to dissatisfied users, the skill level limit should be set around 10-15, as level 25 seems too strong and breaks the balance.
