Ghost of Yotei benefited not only Sony and Sucker Punch studio. After the game's release, the Hokkaido region decided to capitalize on the increased fan interest and launch official merchandise.

The city of Niseko, at the foot of Mount Yotei, entered into an agreement with Sony through an external partner. Thanks to this, tourists will be able to purchase official merchandise based on Ghost of Yotei.

The first collection includes wooden products from the local workshop Kumagera Seisakusho, which works with Hokkaido wood. The assortment includes keychains, magnets, pendants, and badges with game symbols.

Niseko authorities expect that the success of Ghost of Yotei will attract even more tourists eager to see the places that inspired the developers. In the game, the surroundings of Mount Yotei are shown in different seasons.

A similar situation occurred after the release of Ghost of Tsushima. The game's popularity increased the flow of tourists to Tsushima Island, contributed to the development of the local tourism industry and souvenir sales. Later, the developers received the status of official ambassadors of the island.
