Recently, a well-known insider under the nickname Rebs Gaming spoke about what he heard from his sources. If his information is correct, then Halo Studios decided to stop the development of a project codenamed "Project Ekur". It was supposed to be a standalone multiplayer game based on the Halo franchise.

According to Rebs Gaming's sources, "Project Ekur" was actively developed until last summer. However, then the developers (or at least some of them) were sent to make Halo: Campaign Evolved, as that team had "big problems" with the remake's development.

Some time later, "Project Ekur" was allegedly canceled. Halo Studios has not officially confirmed anything.

The regular release of Halo: Campaign Evolved is scheduled for July 28, 2026, but owners of the premium edition will receive 5-day early access:

This is an authentic modernized remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. Discover the original story recreated with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, and improved controls, as well as a brand new three-mission adventure featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson.
