Paradox will allow Stellaris players to customize the amount of resources in the galaxy and improve optimization - beta update presented
Stellaris developers will reduce memory and CPU load.
In early July, the creators of the grand strategy game Stellaris announced the “4.4.5 ‘Pegasus’” beta update. A useful feature was added to the game, and developers continue to fix various technical issues.
Paradox introduced a new Resource Abundance slider – this new setting will allow players to adjust the amount of resources in the galaxy:
- The default value is x2. The developers “understand that this might be a bit confusing,” but in their opinion, it “gives more control for customization.”
- This slider will range from “Scarce” to x5 in 0.25 increments, where x1 roughly corresponds to the resource level of Stellaris 4.3, and x5 is effectively the “resources everywhere” level from 4.4.
Stellaris developers also talked about balance changes, fixing many bugs, and improving optimization. For example, they fixed an issue where automation of “Excavations” and “Astral Rifts” by science ships caused micro-stutters when no targets were available.
In addition, CPU and memory load were reduced when checking fleet orders, which should improve performance in large galaxies with many fleets in the late game.
