Recently, Steam users noticed a specific project by player mike wing. He admitted that he is "addicted to buying digital games on Steam."
The summer sale, which is currently running on Valve's service, only exacerbates the situation, so mike wing came up with an elegant solution – he developed a website that gives him "the same dopamine from 'buying' games, but without spending real money."
The project was named Steam Sales Simulator. It's a full-fledged summer sale simulator: mike wing recreated the main elements of Steam. Upon first entry, the player needs to "create a profile," and then they can go explore the store and fill their cart. The balance can be easily topped up with one click (with virtual money). Players will be able to build a game library, as well as purchase items on the "Marketplace."
mike wing implemented a profile leveling system and added 30 achievements – they are awarded for purchases and certain actions.
The Steam Sales Simulator website is available at the following link.
The official Steam Summer Sale will last until July 9, 20:00 Moscow time. Valve traditionally prepared collectible cards – they drop when creating badges, and also for every 10 dollars spent in the store.
