Active content support for Heroes of the Storm has long ceased, but Blizzard Entertainment continues to release technical updates and make balance adjustments for the game. It recently became known that the company is going to hold a small esports event for this MOBA game.
The developers said that the Legacy Match "Dignitas vs. Gen.G" will pay tribute to HOTS' last appearance at BlizzCon – the 2018 Heroes of the Storm Global Championship final, where Gen.G defeated Dignitas and won the title.
Dignitas will be represented by five players who previously participated in BlizzCon, including four members of the 2018 roster:
- Bakery
- Jaeben
- JayPL
- Wubby
- POILK
The Gen.G team will be represented by a star-studded roster of Korean players, each of whom has already participated in previous BlizzCons, including Kyocha from the championship Gen.G roster:
- Kyocha
- merryday
- Sign
- Dami
- Frankle
Blizzard also announced Legacy matches for strategy games StarCraft: Remastered – "BoxeR vs. Nal_rA", and StarCraft II – "IdrA vs. MC".
This year's BlizzCon event is planned for September.
