Recently, Aeos Games studio founder Varun Mayya, who is making "the first Indian AAA game," gave an interview and spoke about the work on Unleash The Avatar.
This is a soulslike in which players take on the role of Vikram – a hero trying to find out what went wrong in his hometown of Vishwapur (a fictional land inspired by India):
Vishwapur has been taken over by schemers, demons, and mutated creatures. But why? What happened to this once peaceful city? Find out who (or what) poisoned the city through cinematic storytelling, additional lore scrolls and encounters, and by defeating bosses.
Varun stated that he is a "hardcore gamer" – he has about 12-13 thousand hours in Dota 2, and he played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Furi.
He said that photogrammetry was used in the development of Unleash The Avatar – in just nine days, the team was able to scan the entire city of Chanderi, and then the developers "optimized the assets to add to the game." Varun also noted that they managed to attract a specialist who worked on Ghost of Tsushima to create the game.
Unleash The Avatar does not yet have a precise release date or release window, but there is already a Steam page – you can add the game to your wishlist at the following link.
