In early July, Unfrozen studio returned to Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era and introduced a major update, “Patch #11.” It includes various bug fixes and balance adjustments. The developers also announced that they updated necromancy.

The algorithm for converting creatures into undead after battle has been completely reworked – now players do not necessarily need to have creatures of the corresponding rank in their army to convert fallen enemies after victory. Along with this, the cost of resurrection in energy has significantly changed, and the authors of Olden Era added visual hints to the interface and the ability to cancel summoning for necrotic energy directly in the battle results window.

In addition, the developers fixed a vulnerability that allowed Temple players to gain infinite resources on the adventure map; they corrected the incorrect damage of dragons' alternative attack and resolved issues with loading network saves.

Some fixes and improvements:

  • Reworked necromancy interface: widgets added to unit tooltips on the map and in the end-of-battle window. Switching between energy accumulation and converting creatures into undead is now possible directly in the battle results window.
  • Improved interface for Dungeon heroes' combat stances.
  • The retreat button is blocked in single-hero mode, and tooltips have been added explaining the reasons for blocking escape or surrender in different situations.
  • Selected spells are now displayed in the final arena window.
  • Highlighting and outlining — the algorithm for outlining interactive objects has been fixed: now, after visiting them and at the start of a new week, the highlighting changes correctly.
  • Repeatedly pressing the Tab key during the transition to the battle screen no longer breaks the display of the battlefield.
  • Incorrect accrual and display of law and astrology points have been fixed.
  • Fixed a bug where dragons dealt half damage with their alternative attack when certain strike directions were chosen.
