Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Director Explained Why He Doesn't Trust AI to Create Games
Guillaume Broche believes that one day AI will be able to create full-fledged games in a matter of seconds. However, this prospect raises serious concerns for him.
In the Video Game Club program, Sandfall Interactive head Guillaume Broche said that the studio does not use generative AI for creative work. According to him, the technology is suitable for individual administrative or programming tasks, but the creation of the world, characters, and plot should remain with humans.
Broche admitted that generating creative elements with AI "takes away the joy of creation." He also noted that the entire industry is thinking about a future when the capabilities of artificial intelligence will become significantly broader.\
We will be able to generate a game in five seconds with a single prompt.
At the same time, he expressed hope that such projects will not compare in quality to games created by real developers.
Broche noted that the success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 allows Sandfall Interactive to work on new projects according to its own vision, without chasing every new technology.
