The popular cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has arrived on Nintendo Switch, but the launch was not smooth. The developers studied feedback on technical issues and prepared a major update for this version.
Owlcat Games apologized:
First and foremost, we want to sincerely apologize. This was our first experience creating a native port for Nintendo Switch 2, and unfortunately, we underestimated the technical challenges involved. As a result, we were unable to provide the proper level of quality. It took us time to understand the reasons, revise our development approach, and prepare a new build that would truly be a significant step forward. And we are finally happy to present it to you!
The developer also stated that a decision was made to make all additional content for the game free on Nintendo Switch 2 "to compensate for the negative experience of problems at launch." However, in some regions, legislation does not allow DLC to be completely free — in such cases, the content is priced at "the lowest possible price."
Previously, the PC version of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader received updates 1.6.1.493 and 1.6.1.494 — the developers fixed several bugs, improved Russian localization, and also corrected a problem with ship leveling: "now all options for leveling are displayed correctly."
