In early July, Valve introduced a small update for Dota 2. It affects "Dark Carnival" as well as other aspects of the MOBA game.
A Russian translation of the patch note appeared on the Steam page, and players noticed a funny detail in the title – Valve, apparently, accidentally "sent" them to 2027. In the localized version of the patch note, instead of "2026", the developers (or translators) indicated "2027".
One of the discussion participants joked that "while we live in 2026 - Valve is already releasing an update for 2027".
Some changes and improvements in the July update for Dota 2:
- Playing in regular and Turbo modes now grants ticket fragments. Six fragments can be exchanged for any hero ticket. Regardless of the game outcome, two fragments are given in regular modes, and one in Turbo.
- Now, to avoid spending tokens in role-ranked mode, when playing solo, it is enough to choose one in-demand role, not both.
- Daily clairvoyance stones are now given for co-op games against difficult or unfair bots.
- The event filter now has a tooltip showing which tickets are needed for the next reward.
- Fixed a bug where Ability Draft and bot games did not grant tickets.
- Fixed a bug where automaton personalities had incorrect lines in the hero chat wheel.
