Blizzard President Johanna Faries informed employees that Microsoft will soon share further plans regarding the studio.
Faries described the past few days as difficult for many Xbox employees. She thanked the Blizzard team for their work on key projects and player support, urging colleagues to help each other during this challenging period.
So far, there is no indication that Blizzard will face the same large-scale layoffs as other Microsoft divisions. The layoffs most severely affected Bethesda, id Software, Arkane Studios, and other Xbox teams. In total, the company plans to cut about 3,200 employees as part of a large-scale restructuring of its gaming business.
Microsoft has not yet disclosed specific plans for Blizzard. It is only known that employees will receive new information soon.
