Social media users noticed images on new keychains and suggested they might have been created with AI. The main reason for suspicion was distorted inscriptions – one of the most common problems with AI-generated images.
It's possible that Sega might have used existing graphics and processed them with AI, rather than creating the image from scratch.
This is not the first such incident involving Sega recently. Previously, players were outraged by the use of generative AI in promotional materials for Crazy Taxi: World Tour and one of the game's promotional items. After a wave of criticism, the company partially reversed its decisions.
