Anbernic has released a new system update for its portable consoles based on the T820 processor. It can be downloaded “over the air” (OTA) via the built-in software or by downloading the Android firmware from the official support website.
After the update, the following versions will be current: RG 476H – V1.53, RG 556 – V1.16, RG Slide – V1.50, RG 406V – V1.30, RG 406H – V1.39. The main focus of this patch is the “RG Ecosystem.” It includes a completely new series of applications and overlays designed to improve the user experience of the T820 device line.
RG Home has been introduced – a new shell that replaced the old Anbernic RG Launcher. It offers a completely redesigned interface with full integration of Android applications, a new menu on the sides of the screen, and an overall neat appearance for those who do not want to look for alternatives to the stock shell.
The RG Control Center also received an update. First, it needs to be activated in the standard Android notification panel by pulling the screen down. After that, users will be able to swipe from the edge of the screen to view any parameters: from console settings to performance monitoring and even button mapping.

The last innovation is the button mapping program. It is launched through the new control center and works similarly to most such utilities: you can display an overlay on the screen, configure controls (or create several layouts), and save the configuration so that it loads every time the game starts.
This is an excellent addition for games that only support touch control.
