Previously, rumors circulated online about the development of remasters/remakes of Fallout franchise games. Recently, well-known insider Jeff Gerstmann commented on the matter.
According to him, such a project exists and a lot of work has allegedly already been done. Jeff managed to see some footage, but he cannot comment on the current status of the project:
Someone has already done a fair amount of work on a Fallout 3 remake that has never been officially shown. And I don't even know if that project still exists – I assume work is still being done, but it might be dead. Who knows? But I have seen footage of a Fallout 3 remake, so someone somewhere was indeed doing something.
It was previously reported about a new round of layoffs at Xbox. According to incoming information, Bethesda will now focus on The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM, and other key franchises.
Some players believe that the priority will now be the release of full new installments, so there is a chance that the Fallout 3 remake will be quietly canceled.
