In July, Unknown Worlds Entertainment studio published a video diary dedicated to future plans for Subnautica 2. The creators of the underwater survival game are preparing to release update 1.1 for the game on July 8.
The game will feature a highly requested ability – players will be able to fend off fish. Killing, as many wanted, will not be allowed; instead, they will be offered to stun underwater creatures. After being “stunned,” the fish will flip over and gradually sink to the bottom. It is not yet clear how long this state will last.
The creators of Subnautica 2 also stated that later, after the release of update 1.1, they will add new multiplayer features, such as proximity chat.
Later this year, the Unknown Worlds Entertainment team will present a major content update. It will continue the story and add new underwater vehicles, new progression, map expansion, etc. (a detailed description has not yet been published).
Subnautica 2 is being developed under an “early access” program, and the developers expect the game to remain in this status for about 2-3 years.
