In July, the Embark Studios team introduced a major update for The Finals. The eleventh season has started in the game.
The developers presented a new battle pass and the Galaxy Estates map: “SOMETA has built an entire resort in orbit. Sun-drenched villas, a sparkling spaceport, and the best views in the galaxy.”
The Finals also launched a collaboration with another studio game — by completing challenges, you can get a skin in the extraction game Arc Raiders: you need to revive allies, eliminate opponents, and earn “cash.” The promotion will last until July 30.
Embark Studio has prepared a new tutorial mode for beginners, which will introduce the basic mechanics, as well as matchmaking with difficult bots — they will be available on the Monaco, Bernal, Kyoto, Las Vegas, and SYS$Horizon maps.
The developers also decided to rework the melee combat mechanics: they tried to make it “a viable playstyle with equal chances of winning.” For example, all melee weapons can now perform “lunges” towards enemies when attacking; the lunge range has been increased from 3 to approximately 4.5 meters.
In addition, sponsor leveling has been accelerated, and the variety of locations on the map where the cash box can appear has been increased.
