The creators of Escape from Tarkov plan to launch the first season in the game soon. Players will be offered to create a new character, and "modifiers" will be active — special rules that change the gameplay.
Modifiers come in several types. Global (general) modifiers will apply to all seasonal characters — these are mandatory conditions that cannot be refused.
- Non-working insurance — cannot insure items with traders
- Armor shortage — there is an armor shortage with traders in Tarkov
- Black Division — Black Division fighters are encountered in locations
- Jack of all trades — crafting time is reduced by 50%, and the "Manual production" skill is level 51 by default
- Hideout without FIR — building modules in the Hideout does not require "Found in Raid" status for items
- Experienced PMCs — character gains 25% more experience per raid
There will also be positive and negative modifiers. When creating a seasonal character, the player starts with "0" points. The cost of positive modifiers will be deducted from this indicator, while negative ones will increase it. To start the game, the total amount must be equal to 0 or higher. Players are not required to choose any personal modifiers.
The developers have published an infographic with a full description of general, positive, and negative modifiers:
Among the negative modifiers: increased chance of bleeding, faster energy consumption, broken secure container (it will be limited to money, keys, dogtags, special equipment, and some containers).
Positive modifiers, for example, will allow unlocking the "Kappa" secure container at the start, accelerating the leveling of some skills and running, and reducing the chance of negative fractures and bleeding.
The developers of Escape from Tarkov clarified that some modifier parameters may change by the season launch.
