In July, Valve introduced a major update for Counter-Strike 2. The developers announced the start of the fifth Premier season, brought the Cache map back into the official pool (it replaces Overpass), and more.

This update reworked the C4 explosion: now damage will be calculated based on pre-computed simulation values embedded in the compiled map. In addition, the effective distance and blast radius of the C4 explosion have been changed on all official maps for the "Defuse" mode. The shockwave from the explosion site will expand from the center of the explosion, instead of being applied instantly.

Some other changes and improvements:

  • Introduced custom maps Boulder, Fachwerk, Shelter — on the latter, you'll have to rescue hostage dogs.
  • New weapon skin collections appeared — Spy Tech Arabesque, as well as a couple of sticker collections Fruits & Vegetables and Auto Racing.
  • Updated engine code to the latest Source 2 version.
  • Reduced resource consumption for displaying the "scoreboard" (when pressing TAB).
  • Various bug fixes for maps, including Dust II.
