Creative Assembly studio returned to the global strategy game Total War: Warhammer III in July and introduced a major 8.1 update. It aims to fix some technical issues and improve campaign AI, as well as add new “landmarks” to the game.

The developers explained that some AI tasks in the campaign led to enemy armies accumulating and standing idle, for example, due to excessive focus on defending key regions. To fix this, a new mechanism was added to the game, allowing precise control over campaign AI priorities depending on the number of turns since the start of the campaign.

The authors of Total War: Warhammer III expect this change to eliminate a number of situations where AI armies in the campaign accumulated and stood idle: “the developed mechanism will also allow us to more easily solve similar campaign AI behavior problems in the future.” The late game should become more dynamic, as from now on the AI “will strive for expansion and competition, instead of digging in.”

In addition, the developers introduced two new technologies for tiger warriors, “Tiger's Call” and “Honed Senses,” which aim to reduce upkeep costs and increase recruitment rank, speed, and damage across the entire unit:
