The developers of Of Ash and Steel released update 1.08, which reduced RAM consumption by approximately 70% and added a first-person immersion mode.
The developers of the role-playing game Of Ash and Steel, inspired by Gothic and the first "Witcher", have released update 1.08. After its release, the project received "mixed" reviews on Steam with a rating of 65%, and the authors continue to actively fix the game.
The main change in the patch was memory usage optimization. According to the developers, RAM consumption was reduced by approximately 70%, which should eliminate many cases of freezes on PCs with 16 GB of RAM.
Another important innovation is the "immersion mode", which allows exploring the world of Of Ash and Steel from a first-person perspective. The game also added an alternative aiming mode during combat and full gamepad support.
In the next update, the developers plan to focus on improving enemy artificial intelligence.
