Metal Slug is returning to gamers, but not in the form they are used to. In honor of the series' 30th anniversary, SNK has teamed up with Pix'n Love Games to announce a project called Metal Slug 30th Anniversary - The Boardgame.
This is the first board game based on the franchise, designed for 1–4 players aged 14 and over. A game session will take 60–90 minutes. Currently, there is no information about the price, components, gameplay, release date, or anything else — only an image of the box is available.
It's quite difficult to imagine how the famous arcade run-and-gun video game series, which players first encountered in 1996, will be implemented in a tabletop format.
The Metal Slug 30th Anniversary - The Boardgame page has already appeared on the crowdfunding platform Gamefound, where the only details mentioned are that the game will be "Fun. Dynamic. Explosive!".
