06:36Released in 2014, Assassin's Creed Unity impressed not only with its graphics but also with a significant number of diverse bugs. In a recent interview, Ubisoft veteran Jean Guesdon shared his thoughts on the project.
He believes that at the time, the developers tried to fit too much into one game. Such excessive ambitions ultimately became a problem for the project:
Unfortunately, the launch of Assassin's Creed Unity was a serious challenge for several reasons. As with Assassin's Creed III and AnvilNext, Unity's development involved the introduction of incredibly new technology that allowed for 1:1 scale, detailed interiors, huge crowds, a completely new parkour system, and built-in multiplayer. Promoting both content and technology simultaneously is always very difficult, and this project perhaps tried to cover too much at once.
According to Guesdon, Assassin's Creed Unity is "one of the most underrated games in the franchise."
In this installment, the developers offered cooperative missions for a team of four assassins and updated the game's core gameplay mechanics.
The launch issues did not prevent the game from selling well, and the franchise is still alive today.
