Warframe Heads to the Tau System - Update Trailer and Fortnite Collab Released

Digital Extremes is preparing a lot of new content, and Fortnite fans will be able to try on the image of a famous Warframe.

This summer, Digital Extremes held the TennoCon 2026 event, where they talked about the future of Warframe. The developers of the online action game published a trailer for the next major story chapter.

In "Warframe: Tau", players will be invited to go beyond the Origin System and enter Tau:

Tau was once a paradise created by the Sentients, but war and destruction annihilated it. This is especially acutely felt on the black rain-drenched streets of Fornax – a giant ring city [...]

The specific release date for the update has not yet been announced, but the release window is known: "Prepare to risk everything. Warframe: Tau is coming later this year."

In addition, Digital Extremes announced a collaboration with another free-to-play game, Fortnite. Players will be able to get cosmetic content in the style of Excalibur – it can be purchased directly in the Fortnite store for V-Bucks or received as a gift for a purchase in the EGS store:

Purchase a qualifying Warframe item or bundle from the Epic Games Store, and you'll automatically receive the Excalibur Outfit as a gift in your Fortnite Locker. If you purchased a qualifying item or bundle before this promotion began, you will also automatically receive the Excalibur Outfit.

The track "Party of Your Lifetime" by the band On-lyne will be available to play in Fortnite Festival.
