Ubisoft changed Rayman's iconic design - fans argue over his nails
Ubisoft confirmed that Edward Kenway's costume from Assassin's Creed Black Flag will return in Rayman Legends Retold. Along with it, players noticed that Rayman now has detailed nails.
Rayman's design has always been one of the most recognizable in the gaming industry. In Legends Retold, Ubisoft decided to make it more realistic: his eyes no longer look cartoonishly separated, his clothes are more detailed, and his hair looks real.
The main change was discovered in new screenshots: instead of the usual smooth, cartoonish hands, Rayman now has real nails.
For most of his history, the character wore white gloves that concealed his hands, and in rare moments without them, simple, almost undeveloped fingers were shown.
After the publication of Edward Kenway's costume, the official Rayman account showed new images where the changes are noticeable.
Fan reactions were divided: some liked the updated design, while others found it strange.
