AMD Prepares Response to NVIDIA: FSR with up to 8-Frame Generation Found in Drivers

News 0

One of the Chiphell forum participants studied the software using the RadeonTuner tool on an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card and found FSR Multi-Frame Generation Override settings.

Particular attention was drawn to the ability to generate frames with a coefficient of up to 8x. This means that for every real frame, the graphics card will be able to create seven additional ones using AI. For comparison, NVIDIA offers MFG 6x mode, while Intel is limited to a 4x multiplier.

AMD announced the development of Multi-Frame Generation technology during the April updates to the ADLX FidelityFX SDK. Such a sharp increase in the multiplier requires precise control of latency and frame rate. Therefore, experts predict that along with the official debut of this technology, AMD will also introduce an update to its proprietary Anti-Lag system to maintain full responsiveness in dynamic games.

FSR Ray Regeneration and FSR Neural Radiance Caching settings were also found in the drivers. If AMD officially activates these functions, players will be able to enable improved noise reduction and lighting processing even in games without native support for new technologies.

Currently, the hidden features do not work fully – their presence hints at a major update to the FSR ecosystem in the future.
